India Habitat Centre, New Delhi

Information of the project

Under the Cooling Innovation Lab set up by Tabreed and its partners in India, Ecomax technology is being tested at the India Habitat Centre cooling plant, which provides cooling for the complete India Habitat Centre campus on Lodhi Road, in New Delhi.

As part of this project Ecomax has designed an electrolysis chemical free water treatment technology for condenser water, to eliminate the chemical usage, reducing the Cycles of Concentration. The Ecomax-HE” ATCS technology uses sponge ball technology to clean the condenser water tubes at regular intervals (every 15 minute cycles) thereby eliminating the condenser tube from fouling, preventing the condenser approach temperature to increase. The increased condenser approach results in 100% saving in energy loss. The “Ecomax-CT” electrolysis chemical-free technology uses anodes/cathodes to capture the calcium and magnesium phosphate deposits that are generated. This reduces the water blowdown cycle and has water savings potential.

The pilot is expected to maintain the energy efficiency of the plant by reducing fouling and improve equipment life/health. It will also result in reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as well as water savings. There are further ecological and environmental benefits as no chemicals are used/released in the process. Upon successful implementation, this can be used on a wider scale for various adopters in all water-cooled systems which will result significant savings in energy costs and GHG emissions

As of 1st week of July 2024 Ecomax -both systems – ATCS & Electrolysis Chemical Free technology have been installed in the cooling plant system and currently the plant is under observation during the reporting period.
